Deesign Partnership Ltd, designers and manufacturers of the original micro-dumper, was founded in 1985 in the UK. It was set-up to design, manufacture and market products for other companies.
Deesign Partnership had won the first ever BBC Design Awards competition in 1988, and the British Design Award for their expertise in design, featuring the very first micro digger now known as Toe-Hoe, and various other small construction and earthmoving equipment.
Terry designed a hydraulic tipping system for the first micro dumper introduced into the UK by Honda. The Honda HP400 tracked power carrier was sold through the existing dealer network and the concept of micro dumpers was then recognised in the industry for hire along-side micro/mini diggers.
2 years later Terry designed the first wheeled micro dumper and approached some large companies with the concept for a more productive yet economical product. All these companies laughed and said "this idea will never work"
We soon realised they were wrong. So against the advice Terry designed and made the first one which was named "BIZZY" in 1986. The first machine had only two front drive wheels and had to be supported by the operator. Although it worked quite well it was certainly not as user friendly as the current micro-dumper and the concept for wheeled powerbarrows with multi uses was born.
